The 2015 Emirates Australian Open will be played from November 26-29.
Golf Australia chief executive officer Stephen Pitt confirmed the date today, saying it was the perfect time to again showcase record-setting host, The Australian Golf Club.
“We’re really excited to be heading back to a club that will host our national championship for an unprecedented 19th time,” Pitt said.
“It’s the same week on the golf calendar as last year which was a resounding success and a great time of the year to bring a world-class field to Sydney.”
Pitt said The Australian’s redesigned course had been “superbly prepared and well received by both players and fans” in 2014 as American Jordan Spieth lifted the Stonehaven Cup with one of the storied event’s greatest rounds.
“The overwhelming feedback we’ve had from players and sponsors is that they’ll be delighted to go back in 2015, so we’re thrilled to be able to make that happen,” Pitt said.
The Emirates Australian Open is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia, a member of the International Federation of PGA Tours, and the OneAsia Tour. The flagship tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia, the Emirates Australian Open winner will receive a minimum of 32 Official World Golf Rankings points.
