2015 Men’s NSW Sand Greens Championship

Jacob Ryan (Cobar BGC) has claimed the 2015 Men's NSW Sand Greens Championship. Ryan shot a spectacular 12-under-par 130 to win the John Lugsdin Memorial Trophy by 8 strokes from Condobolin's Brad Hurley (4-under-par 138). 

Cobar local Alec Fraser (HCP 23) won the closely contested Nett event, posting a 17-under-par 125 to claim victory by a single stroke over Walgett's Ron Fuller who finished with a 16-under-par 126.

The team event was a one horse race, with the Fraser's of Cobar (Mark Fraser, Stuart Fraser & Alec Fraser) posting a staggering 40-under-par (aggregate Nett score, across 2 rounds) to win by 33 strokes!

The Leaders have teed off for the final round of the 2015 Men's NSW Sand Greens Championship. Overnight leader Jacob Ryan (Cobar BGC) holds a 4 stroke lead over Condobolin's Brad Hurley. Fellow Condobolin member Nick Packham is a shot further back in third place with Walgett's Neil Newton rounding out the leading group currently 7 shots off the place.

Round 1 Wrap

Cobar local Jacob Ryan has lit up the opening round of the 2015 Men's NSW Sand Greens Championship posting an impressive 8-under-par 63 to lead the championship by 4 strokes. Brad Hurley (Condobolin GC) is in second place on 4-under-par 67, followed by fellow Condobolin member Nick Packham in third with a 3-under-par 68.

In the Nett event Ron Fuller (Walgett GC) has posted an astonishing 12-under-par 59 to lead the nett event by 4 strokes over Cobar local Jacob Ryan and Anthony Beetson JNR (Wowan GC) who both posted nett scores of 63 respectively.

Play is underway at the 2015 Men's NSW Sand Greens Championship held at Cobar Bowling and Golf Club. Players were met by sweltering conditions here in Cobar, with the mercurcy tipping 37 degrees for the 1pm shotgun start.
