2015 Tour Barossa Classic on the Thu 16 – Sun 19th April

Gawler Golf Club has partnered with award winning Tour Barossa, the Tanunda based tour and accommodation operator.

The partnership will see the annual Gawler Classic named the Tour Barossa Classic being held from the 16 – 19th April 2015.

“Our Classic event has been growing in popularity in recent years. We’re encouraging couples to make a weekend of it. Play some golf, get on a tour and be consumed in the Barossa.” said Gawler Golf Club President Chris Thornton.

Tour Barossa owner Steve Brown said “As the number one tour operator in Australia we are excited to become part of the local golf community. We are proud to be partnering with the premier golf club in the Barossa region and their prestigious Classic event.

There are numerous synergies and extension of services for both our business and the Club to ensure a mutually beneficial long term partnership. Our whole team is looking forward to working with the Club.”

The opening experience of the four day carnival is Thursday’s Gastronomic Golf trail held in co-operation with local tourism association the Southern Barossa Alliance.

This event forms part of the Barossa Vintage Festival program.

“It’s important that we embrace our region and all that it has to offer. The Gastronomic Golf Trail is a social six hole Ambrose event. Participants will be treated to premium food and wine on each tee block as they make their way along the trail. With the opportunity to select six bottles of wines to take home it will ensure the experience is extended and shared with friends and family.” said Thornton.

On the Friday a Sponsors and Business Ambrose event is held which attracts a wide array of local businesses that use the event to invite their customers or staff to enjoy a day out on the course.

The Saturday and Sunday is where players will fight it out for $5,000 worth of prizes over a 36 hole stroke event. There are also separate daily 18 hole events for those that may only wish to play one day and spend the other enjoying the Barossa.

“The Tour Barossa Classic is set to attract some of the best amateur golfers from around the state and we’d also love to see some interstate interest now we can accommodate their needs through the partnership with Tour Barossa.” Thornton added.

The four day Tour Barossa Classic is set to provide a range of experiences catering for all levels of players while embracing the best the region has to offer.
