Golf Victoria’s high performance department is pleased to announce the 2016 Victorian elite squad which will commence as of April, 2016.
The aim of the Victorian elite squad is to fast track the development of athletes into the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) & Golf Australia National Squad program. The squad also assists VIS first year scholarship holders* with competition opportunities.
Since its inception, Victorian elite squad members have been involved in many State and National event victories. Squad members are offered a $4,000 scholarship which is spent primarily on travel to compete in State and National ranking events with the remainder into service provision such as coaching, physiotherapy, strength & conditioning, sports psychology and other relevant services for player development.
The elite squad will also attend two camps over the next 12 months which will combine a series of specialized workshops and assessments to further assist in the monitoring and development of each athlete.
The elite squad can be added to throughout the year and will take into account an athlete’s potential combined with their individual results in local, state and national events.
