2018 Victorian Play 9 Championship FINAL

The 2018 Victorian Play 9 Championship will be played on the West Course at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club on Sunday 4 November.

Note: If any player is unable to play, please contact David Greenhill (davidgr@golf.org.au) as soon as possible to enable a substitute player to be offered a position in the field.

Play will begin via a multi-tee start at 4pm with registration to take place from 2.30pm in the clubhouse bar area. The presentation and player’s barbecue will be held at the conclusion of play at approximately 6.30pm. While the food component of the barbecue is provided complimentary to players, please note that all drinks are at each individual’s own expense.

All players & caddies are required to adhere to the Club’s dress regulations with particular reference to the link above.

A field of approximately 100 players will be competing at the final with equitable numbers of men and women. Women finalists will compete on the front nine of the West Course from the red tees, while the men will compete over the back nine of the West Course from the white tees. The competition will be nine holes of individual stableford. In the event of a tie for either the Women’s or Men’s Championships (or any trophies in either section) all positions/winners shall be decided by the system of count-back as specified by Golf Australia.

The leading two women and the leading two men from the 2018 Victorian Play 9 Championship Final will qualify to Play 9 at the 2018 Emirates Australian Open at The Lakes Golf Club on Saturday 17 November and receive the following:

 

  • Entry into the 2018 Emirates Australian Open Play 9 National Final;
  • A weekend pass for the 2018 Emirates Men’s Australian Open as guests of Golf Australia;
  • Return economy air travel to Sydney from the nearest major city;
  • Two nights’ accommodation (Friday and Saturday nights), and a $200 grant to cover transfers and all meals in Sydney;
  • Attendance at the Play 9 presentation cocktail party;
  • Tickets to the Emirates Australian Open champion’s cocktail party on Sunday evening;
  • A player gift pack.
