2018 Women’s Autumn Meeting

Thursday 3rd May

 
The final round of the 2018 Women's Autumn Meeting has come to close with over 70 players teeing it up at Yowani Country Club in the Teams V Par event.
 
Winners of the day were The Coast's Susan Bracey, Laetitia Curtis, Marie Wheat and Susan Britton of Woollahra with +8 on a countback from Belconnen's team of Sue Connell, Margaret Hardy, Chris Taylor and Pat Woodberry also with +8 on a countback from Pambula-Merrimbula's team of Sarina Garrett, Margaret Gaunson, Michele Martin and Heather York.
 
 

 

 

 
Wednesday 2nd May
 
Fairbairn Golf Club hosted the third day of the Women's Autumn Meeting today with over 80 ladies playing foursomes stroke.
 
In division one, Royal Canberra's pairing of Ning Hanson and Liz Smyth had an 80 off the stick to win the scratch. Margaret Rumble and Melita Zielonko of Belconnen Magpies took out the nett prize with 72 nett on a countback from Marian Byrnes of Catalina and Shirley Walsh of Bayview.
 
Division two's nett winners were Maureen Field from Wollongong and Robyn Hall from Sanctuary Cove with 74 ½ nett. Runners up were Kathleen Bull of Mollymook and Suzanne Walsh of Camden with 78 nett and third place went to Camden's Anne Brady and Maria De Jong with 78 ½ nett on a countback.
 
 
 
 

 

 

 

 
Tuesday 1st May
 
Queanbeyan's Pauline Jeffery had a solid round of 80 off the stick at Gold Creek today to come through with the win for the ACT Championship Cup. A total of 169 on a countback from Royal Canberra's Ning Hanson.
 
The overall nett winner for division one was Gold Creek's Paula Anderson (13) with a total of 149 to win by two ahead of Johanna Hunt (22) of Pambula-Merrimbula on 151.
 
Belconnen's Sue Connell won division two's Seat of Government Cup with a total of 74 points, two consistant rounds of 37 points each day. Runner up was Eva Crow of Pambula-Merrimbula with 67 points. Anne McCarthy of Belconnen was in third place with 65 points on a countback from Mollymook's Kathleen Bull.

 
 
Monday 30th April
 
Play has concluded at Federal Golf Club for the first day of the Women's Autumn Meeting.
 
Royal Canberra's Ning Hanson is leading the tight race in division one after shooting an 84 off the stick today, one stroke ahead of Bega's Wendy Hergenhan and Liz Smyth of Royal Canberra.
Pambula-Merimbula's Johanna Hunt (22) has had an impressive score of 68 nett to lead the division one nett by three strokes ahead of Ning Hanson (12) of Royal Canberra with 71 nett.
 
In division two, there is a four way tie for first place on 37 points with Belconnen's Sue Connell (26), Colleen Versluis (45) of Camden, Mollymook's Kathleen Bull (42) and Vicki Miers (25) from Royal Canberra. One point behind on 36 is Kareela's Lesley Aston (33) and Nancy Warne (34) of Pambula-Merimbula.

Friday 27th April

The 2018 Women’s Autumn Meeting takes place on Monday 30 April, Tuesday 1, Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 May at various courses in the ACT.  The event is open to female amateurs who hold a current or Australian or overseas equivalent handicap.  The courses are Federal, Golf Creek, Fairbairn and Yowani Golf Clubs.

The format is stroke play over 36-holes, 18-holes on day one and 18-holes on day two (played in two divisions), followed by 18-holes foursomes on day three and best ball team’s event v par on day four.  The divisions have been set following close of entries.  In the stroke event the winner of Division one will be awarded the ACT Championship Cup and the winner of division two will be awarded the Seat of Government Cup.

The first round for division one and two will take place at Federal on Monday.

Another fabulous day in Canberra for the 2015 Women's Autumn Meeting. The final 18-holes of the 36-hole individual event is being played today at Federal GC for Division One and Murrumbidgee CC for Division Two.

Nicky Moon has won the ACT Championship Cup at the 2016 Women's Autumn Meeting. Having rounds of 83 at Federal on Monday and 86 at Gold Creek today, a total of 169 of the stick to win the championship by three strokes. Nett winner was Sanctury Cove's Robyn Hall (20) with a total of 154 nett, one stroke in front of runner up Liz Smyth from Royal Canberra (9) with 155 nett.

Division two was won by Royal Canberra's Christina Moss (31) with a total of 70 points with rounds of 34 points at Federal and 36 at Gold Creek. Runner up was Robin Mason (40) from Bayview with 69 points.
