Golf Tasmania wishes to advise that Ms Helen Langenberg has notified her resignation from the Golf Tasmania Board. Helen holds a senior role in the State Department of Sport and Recreation and has advised that recent changes in her role do not allow her to devote the time necessary to make a meaningful contribution as a Board member.

Helen first joined the Board in 2008 via invitation to fill a casual vacancy and successfully stood for re-election in 2009 and again in 2012. She served as Chair from July 2012 until December 2013. During this period Helen has led and contributed significantly to contemporising our governance and business principles. I would like to thank Helen for all of her contributions to the Board and wish her well on all her future endeavours.

We therefore find ourselves with a casual vacancies on the Board with a term until the conclusion of our 2015 AGM. We wish to fill this position as soon as possible and therefore are calling for expression of interest from our members closing on Sunday March 22nd. The Board will consider the nominations at its next Board meeting on March 27th

The Board have considered our current strengths and weaknesses and note that while we do not have a set minimum for gender or regional representation on our Board we feel strongly that we should endeavour to have at least 2 of each gender and some balance from across all regions. We are therefore particularly keen to receive female nominations and/or nominations from either North West or Southern nominees to complement our current Board.

Persons interested in nomination should complete the attached form and return either by post addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 410 Rosny Park, Tas 7018 or by email (craig@golftasmania.org.au). Enquires can be directed to the General Manager, Craig French on 0429 642 634 or Chair, Tony Bush on 0418 135 262.

Regards

Tony Bush
