Adam Scott TV Commercial unveiled

With Australia’s exciting golf season nearly underway, Golf Australia has unveiled a new TV commercial featuring Masters champion Adam Scott and an expanded version of its flagship participation program www.playgolf.com.au.

The new website and TV commercial lead into Playgolf WEEK, an upcoming week-long initiative in South Australia to raise awareness and increase participation in golf.

The new website now includes Australia’s most comprehensive course directory with search facilities for driving ranges and private and public access facilities. The site also includes easy-to-digest information on getting started, getting lessons, joining a club and junior golf.

Playgolf WEEK will be piloted in South Australia from 28 October – 3 November and includes a range of activities including Club Open Days, a MYGolf Junior Day, as well as an Urban Golf event in Adelaide’s CBD.

Golf Australia CEO Stephen Pitt said the new site, commercial and Playgolf WEEK all help in the work to introduce new people to golf as an accessible, colourful and enjoyable recreation activity.

“The vision for this concept is two-fold. Firstly, Playgolf.com.au, Playgolf WEEK and the new Adam Scott commercial are designed to encourage more people to play golf more often and educate Australians on the benefits of playing golf as a good way to stay active and socially connected throughout life,” Pitt said.

“Secondly, we are working towards future growth of our industry through these participation initiatives. We want even more people enjoying golf and an even bigger industry over time as a result.”

More than 40 golf clubs across South Australia will participate in Playgolf WEEK and stage several special events across the week at their clubs, including an Open Day on Sunday 3 November for their local communities.

“We are committed to bringing golf front of mind throughout the week-long initiative with something for both first timers and die-hard golfers. Activities will be at North Adelaide Golf Course and other locations in the city as well as the myriad of terrific courses situated in both metropolitan and regional areas of South Australia”, said CEO of Golf South Australia, Chris Luz-Raymond.
