Allan in contention

Steve Allan remains in a strong position after three rounds of the Frys.com Open in Scottsdale, Arizona. Allan shot a two-under 68 to be in a tie for third place with Paul Goydos and John Mallinger, just two strokes off leader Kevin Sutherland. Sutherland bolted to the lead after a superb seven-under 63 took him to 14-under overall and a one shot lead over fellow American George McNeill. In more good news for Australia, Matthew Goggin also fired a 68 to be in a tie for eighth at 10-under. Steve Elkington is also in with a chance a further stroke behind Goggin in a tie for 11th. Peter Lonard (64), Rod Pampling (65), Aaron Baddeley (66) all had quality rounds to join compatriot Michael Sim at seven-under overall in a tie for 24th.
