Sportal Robert Allenby is five shots off the pace after shooting a disappointing even-par 70 in the third round of the Sony Open in Hawaii. After a scintillating four-under 66 in the second round, Allenby couldn&apost maintain his pressure on the leaders and now faces an up-hill battle going into the final day. After birding the ninth to go one-under for the round Allenby bogeyed the fourth and fifth and just managed to avoid a positive score by birdying the 18th. Charles Howell III fired a five-under 65 to stake his claim at the top of the leaderboard. Luke Donald now sits alone in second spot just one shot off the pace with Paul Goydos a further stroke back. Howell III held his nerve hitting seven birdies for the round while Goydos and Donald could only manage rounds of 69 and even-par 70 respectively. John Senden is the only other Aussie still in contention in a tie for 12th, seven shots off the lead at the conclusion of the third round after finishing the day with a 68.
