LPGA and LET Women&aposs Golf Tours are both in Asia this week and the Australian contingent fair relatively well against a tough field and a showcase of the growing popularity of the game in China and Taiwan. LPGA – Sunrise Taiwan Championship Presented by Audi Winner – Suzann Petterson (Norway) at -19 Petterson became the third player on the LPGA season this year to win back-to-back with a 3 shot victory over Korea&aposs Inbee Park. Petterson had to fight hard on the back nine with birdies on the 15th and 18th to hold off the mounting challenge from Inbee Park and defending champion, Yani Tseng. Australians in the field: Sarah Jane Smith T38 at +4 Lindsey Wright T50 at +6 Katherine Hull T54 at +7 LET – China Suzhou Taihu Open Winner – Carlota Ciganda (Spain) at -17 Ciganda capped off her 2nd victory in the LET season after her maiden victory at Holland in June. The 22 year old fired a course record 8 under par 64 to win 7 shots over second place Caroline Masson. Ciganda secures her top position in LET&aposs ISPS Order of Merit.
