ALPG – MUNT WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD IN UK

ALPG Member Alison Munt has claimed the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland&aposs Female Assistant of the Year award. The 43-year-old, who played 160 tournaments in 18 years on the European Tour, won the LET-sponsored award after completing the PGA’s three-year foundation degree.

rnAlison admitted her shock at passing the degree let alone winning the Beverly Lewis Trophy – which was named after the PGA’s first female captain – when she attended the PGA’s graduation ceremony at the University of Birmingham on May 1. She said, “I am tremendously proud of passing this course let alone winning any of the awards, this is equal to any wins and achievements on the course because, although it was golf, it took me way outside my comfort zone.”

rnAlison finished fourth overall in the Titleist PGA Assistant of the Year standings, which won her a cheque for £1,250 in addition to the £1,250 for being the top female.
