Amateur Update – Keating claims Irish Stroke Play

Australian Stacey Keating has won the Irish Ladies Open Stroke Play Championship by one stroke over a group of four players including compatriot Bree Arthur. The Victorian shot final rounds of 72 and 73 to edge out her rivals after opening with a disappointing 80 three days ago. Poor weather made scoring extremely tough but Keating&aposs three-over was enough to clinch her first international title. Ray Beaufils was a further stroke back and Richie Gallichan finished at five-over the card, rounding out the only Australians to play all four rounds. Next up for the boys is the Rice Planters tournament at Snee Farm Country Club, South Carolina July 4-7.
