Ambition meets ability for Green

Highly promising golfer Hannah Green embarked on her maiden professional season last year with lofty targets.

In a reflection of her self confidence, Green’s wish list contained three victories on the secondary Symetra Tour and a card on the LPGA tour.

Her mindset was loaded with ambitious plans, especially for a rookie. But Green is also loaded with talent.

She claimed her third win when triumphant in the IOA Golf Classic in Florida in October, just two weeks after clinching her LPGA card for this year. Being named rookie of the year was an added bonus, according to the gifted West Australian.

On Thursday, Green, 21, will launch her LPGA Tour career at the Pure Silk Classic in the Bahamas. And she has again put together her goals for her first attack on the biggest tour in women’s golf.

The world rankings and money list are high in her thought process, but she is still waiting for approval from coach Ritchie Smith before rubber stamping her pursuits.

“I’ve not set any high goals like last year,” said Green, who will contest the Australian Womens Open at Kooyonga from February 15-18.
