An exciting win for Pascoe

Helen Pascoe (Buninyong) has claimed the 2014 Victorian Women’s Senior Championship with a strong 7/5 win over Torquay member Mandy Buckley. Pascoe qualified number one after the 36 hole qualifying and then produced impressive wins against Alison Sinclair (Warrnambool) this morning 6/4 and then Wendy this afternoon. In perfect golfing weather at the Curlewis Golf Club, Helen’s performance was good enough to place two hands around the cup.

Helen came into this championship as a firm favourite playing off a fantastic handicap of 1. The long hitting Buninyong member is a great supporter of Golf Victoria events and a well deserving winner.

In the 55-64 flight, Sue Dawes managed to take victory after a tough fought Semi Final against Judy Kruger, eventually winning on the 20th. Sue then edged out Jenny McRae in the final, 4/3.

In the 65+ flight, local Curlewis member Anne Howard made the most of the home track to go all the way to record a 5/3 victory over Valda Connolly in the final this afternoon.

Well done and congratulations to all on making the Knock-Out Match Play.
