55 junior golfers teed off this morning for the Golf Australia Junior Tournament held at Kooringal Golf Club. With Kooringal legends Marylin and Kevin on hand to present the perpetual trophies to the boys and girls winners the competition was strong across all divisions.
The winner of the Winn Lloyd Trophy for best gross girls score was Ashni Solanki from Victoria Golf Club. Solanki made the most of the par fives on the course with four birdies to score a three over par 77 and claim the trophy by two shots.
In the boys section it was Siddharth Annangi who won the Kevin Hartley Trophy with an incredible 2 under par, 69. The spring Valley member holed five birdies on his way to a five stroke win.
The overall runner up went to Matthew McFarlane from Curlewis who shot a 74 to win the prize in a countback from local Cameron Taylor.
In Division A it was again Siddharth Annangi claiming the title with a nett 62. In second place was Jacob Ngo from Medway who returned a 69 (-2) while in third was Alexandra Phanuruk from Metropolitan with 74 (E).
Kooringal local Luca Carboni took out Division B in a countback with a nett 66 (-5) over Louise Baliton from Mt Derrimut who had 69 (-5). One shot back in third place was Hamish Farquharson from The National with 67 (-4).
Andy Wang from Green Acres was too strong in Division C finishing on top with 44 stableford points. Runner up on 36 was Justin Wei from Woodlands two shots ahead of Edward Ly of Bairnsdale.
