APGC Seniors head to Sabah

The 2008 Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation Senior Championship will be played at the Nexus Golf Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from the 11th 13th November. The Championship is played over 54 holes stroke play and is hosted by the Sabah Golf Association on behalf of the APGC. Entrants must be at least 55 years of age as at 11/11/2008. Golf Australia is pleased to announce the six man team to compete in the 2008 Asia-Pacific Senior Championship. The Golf Australia team was selected by taking the top 6 rnaked players from the 2007/2008 Australian Senior Order of Merit. The team to represent Golf Australia at the APGC Seniors is: Stefan Albinski (NSW) Denis Dale (NSW) Nigel Goodall (WA) Rick Oliver (NSW) Ross Percy (VIC) Brian Sams (NSW) In addition to the championship, a number of other competitions will be conducted and prizes awarded in the following categories: Overall nett winner Overall nett runner-up First round nett winner Second round nett winner Third round nett winner 55-59 years of age gross winner 60-64 years of age gross winner 65-69 years of age gross winner 70 years of age and over gross winner A Team Competition will also be held over 54 holes with each team consisting of 6 members and the best 4 scores counting each round. The official accommodation for the championship is the 5-star Nexus Resort Karambunai, adjacent to the golf course.
