Concord’s Peter West has described his role as team manager of the Club’s Eric Apperly Shield team as one of his most enjoyable experiences in sport.
“It’s been fun. I’m really lucky to have worked with these boys.
“I’ve been a member of Concord for 18 years, and it’s my third year managing this team.
“It’s been a good season, and they’ve done well,” West said.

It may get even better come Sunday morning when the high-flying Concord side meets rivals and defending champion, Bonnie Doon in the final of the State-wide competition at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club.
West said the boys will need to be at their best, but knows they are ready for a keenly fought battle.
“The guys are playing well at the right time of the season, but with Bonnie Doon being the defending champions, it’s going to be tough, but we give it a red hot go.”
The inner-west suburbs team will be without one of their stars in NSW State Team member Josh Gadd, who will be playing the nationally ranked Mandurah Open in Western Australia this weekend, however still have plenty of talent at hand ready to step up to the plate.
“They are an impressive bunch of young guys.
“Blade Gadd, Josh’s brother was undefeated up until the semi-final, and Corey Lamb, well we know what he did in Canada last month,” West added.
With the talent on show, West expects the level of competition to be high, but played in good spirits.
“It’s always healthy, but these guys get along so well. They play so much golf with each other; there is always a level of camaraderie,” West smiled.
The Concord team is Corey Lamb, Lachlan Jones, Oli Payne, Jackson Hall, Blade Gadd and Brandon Biddle.
