Appreciation for Presidents and Captains

The President’s and Captain’s Golf Day is an annual event hosted in appreciation for the Women’s Presidents and Captains from each Victorian golf club. It is a great networking opportunity for the representatives from each club, with the Presidents and Captains meeting with each other in a social and competitive condition.

This year, the event forms part of the Northern Golf Club Centenary celebrations that have been taking place throughout 2012, recognizing the 100th anniversary of the club’s operation at their current Glenroy location.

The format is 18 holes Canadian Foursomes Stableford, and extreme winds today made for very challenging conditions for the players. Di Fraser and Carolyn Cripps from Lang Lang on a combined handicap of 19 came in with the tied best score of 29 points, winning on a count-back from Gisborne pair Fran Crimmins and Pat Gilchrist.

Winners from this year’s International Bowl and Mona Macleod Brooch were also presented with their trophies.

Thank you to Northern Golf Club for hosting and their wonderful hospitality, Lee Wills (GV Vice-President), Sue Rea (GV Board Member and Chair of Women’s Advisory Group), and all Presidents and Captains that came and participated in the event today.
