Arnold on a Mission in China

Scott Arnold recovered from early bogeys to post a 71 which leaves him equal fourth after the opening round of the 2007 Mission Hills Asia-Pacific Open Amateur Championship in China. The Australian was on the back foot early after bogeys at four and five before he began to claw his way back, eventually getting even with the card at the 10th. Arnold then proceded to birdie both par threes on the back nine before a bogey on the last ended his round at one-under. Countryman Jake Younan-Wise birdied two of his final three holes to finish on 75 while Queenslander Brett Rankin is in the clubhouse with a 78. Welshman Oliver Farrs leads the tournament after posting a superb five-under 67. 71: Scott Arnold 75: Jake Younan-Wise 78: Brett Rankin 83: Alexander Lau Click here for ROUND ONE scores
