Arthur Poised For Victory in India

Queenslander Bree Arthur is poised for her maiden victory on the Ladies European Tour, sharing the lead with Thailand s Pornanong Phatlum heading into Sunday s final round of the Hero Women’s Indian Open. Arthur, in her third season on the LET shot a second round 5 under par 67, to sit at 7 under par with the Thai star, who was the winner of this tournament in 2008 and 2009 and who won her first tournament on the LPGA Tour in 2012 at the HSBS LPGA Brasil Cup. The pair hold a one shot lead over defending champion Swede Caroline Hedwall, who fired a sensational second round 10 under par 62, fourteen better than her first round, whilst England s Laura Davies is a shot further back hoping to secure her second Hero Women’s Indian Open title to go with her 2010 title. The 24-year-old Arthur from Brisbane player her opening nine holes in level par 36 but made five birdies on the back nine on the 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 18th. I went out today with no expectations and I knew the course owed me a few shots as I got a bit unlucky yesterday, said Arthur, making her first visit to India. I walked off the ninth having three-putted and got quite angry so I said, that s it: I m going to go for everything, because I should have been four or five under on the front nine. I had a few unlucky bounces and I thought, if I keep going, I m going to get some birdies. Of the other ALPG Members in the field, Stacey Keating is tied 17th at 1 over par; Nikki Garrett T26 at 2 over; Rebecca Artis T33 at 3 over and Sarah Kemp T62 at 8 over.
