Asia-Pacific defend Dongfeng crown

Team Asia-Pacific have successfully defended the Dongfeng Nissan Cup, beating Team China by four points. Hosts China took a 7-5 lead into Sunday&aposs singles encounters at the CTS Tycoon Club in Shenzhen, but could only muster three points on Sunday as Asia Pacific ran away with a resounding 14-10 victory in the OneAsia Tour&aposs version of the Ryder Cup. Jason Kang, Michael Long and Yosuke Tsukada all had comfortable wins in their encounters, while Zhang Lianwei claimed one of two China&aposs outright wins with a 7&6 thrashing of Soshi Tajima. Kang defeated Yuan Hao 6&5, Long beat Wu Weihuang 3&2 while Tsukada was a 4&3 winner over Yuan Tian. Mark Brown and Rory Hie both earned respective 2&1 wins over Ouyang Zheng and Guan Tianlang. Nicholas Fung held on for a 1-up win over Zhou Guowu, and Wisut Artjanawat and Choi Jin-ho both won 3&2 over Wu Kangchun and Han Ren respectively. Joining Lianwei as an outright winner for China was Liang Wenchong, who beat Andre Stolz 3&1, while Zhang Xinjun and Choo Tze Huang got half a point each for the losers by holding Scott Laycock and Jin Daxing in respective all-square results. The Asian Pacific side also took out the inaugural event held last year, when they won by just one point.
