Rohan Blizard is the joint-leader at the Players Amateur in North Carolina after shooting an opening round six-under (66). Rudi Bezuidenhout and Leigh Deagan are equal-fifth at four-under while Tim Stewart is a further two strokes back. Other Aussies include: Richie Gallichan and John Kelly (71), Ray Beaufils and Aaron Pike (72), Rick Kulacz (73), Jamie Arnold and Andrew Dodt 74, Mitchell Krywulycz and Ben Pisani (75), Michael Foster (78) and Josh Younger (79). Emma Bennett and Kristie Smith bowed out of the Women&aposs Trans Amateur in Kentucky overnight, losing in the second round of match play. The pair were the last Aussies standing following the earlier elimination of Victorians Kate Combes and Clare Choi. The girls are now off to Pinehurst for the North and South, July 16-22.
