Matthew Griffin was the best of the Aussies in the Eastern Amateur finishing in equal 10th with scores of 69 65 71 and 69 (274). Tom Prowse and Justin Roach were four strokes back, Scott Arnold and Michael Raseta posted 280, Brent Watson had 282 and Jeremy Cross finished with 295. American Bill Rankin won the event with a phenomenal total of 265 (70 65 63 67). At The Players Amateur, Rohan Blizard finished fourth at 17-under (66 71 65 69). Other Australians included Tim Stewart (-12), Andrew Dodt (-7), Aaron Pike (-6), Richie Gallichan (-4), Rudi Bezuidenhout & John Kelly (-3), Rick Kulacz (-1), Ray Beaufils & Leigh Deagan (Ev), Ben Pisani (+2) and Jamie Arnold (+3). American Ricky Fowler won with a score of 24-under. The next men&aposs event is the Porter Cup at Niagra Falls Country Club. This event has a limited field event and it is likely that only Tim Stewart, Rick Kulacz, Andrew Dodt and Rohan Blizard will receive invitations to play. Meanwhile, Emma Bennett, Kate Combes, Kristie Smith, Alison Whitaker and Clare Choi are set to contest the North & South Women&aposs Amateur tonight at Pinehurst Country Club. There will be 36-holes of qualifying played over the first two days. The top 64 players qualify for the match play. The Callaway World Junior Championship also gets underway tonight at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California.
