Aussie Amateur Update

Andrew Dodt is the best of the Aussies at the Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club at two-under after the second round. The Australian Amateur Stroke Play Champion carded back-to-back 69&aposs to sit in equal-18th place. American Bryan Harman is the runaway leader at 13-under as hot and humid weather has made scoring a breeze. Other Australians include Tim Stewart (E: 68, 72), Aaron Pike (+2: 70 72), Matthew Griffen (+2: 69 73), Rick Kulacz (+3: 73 70) and Rohan Blizard (+4: 76 68). At the Women&aposs Colorado Stroke Play Championship, Emma Bennett is leading going into the final round. Bennett is at two-under after scoring a two-under 70 in the third round. Fellow Victorians Clare Choi and Kate Combes are seven and 11-over par respectively but still in the Top-10. Finally, Matthew Giles has bowed out of the US Junior Amateur Championship in the second round of match play. The New South Welshman was ousted 4&2 by Sean Dale. Giles will now return to Australia to focus on his looming HSC exams after being on the road representing his country on the golf course since June.
