Aussie duo in touch

Australian duo Tony Carolan and Rick Kulacz are tied for eighth place after the opening round of the Korea Open. The pair shot opening rounds of 68 to finish the day at three-under, some four shots behind in-form American Anthony Kim. The Korean-American was one of the stars of the United States Ryder Cup win over Europe last month and maintained his recent good form at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club. The tournament also sees Kim resume hostilities with Ian Poulter – the top performer in the European team – after the duo clashed in Valhalla. Poulter accused Kim of barging into him on the green on the Saturday of the Ryder Cup. The 32-year-old Englishman finished five shots off the pace on Thursday after carding a two-under-par 69. Korean Kim Jyong-myung is second after carding a five-under-par 66 while five players share third place at four under. Opening round scores from the Korea Open: (par 71) -7: Anthony Kim -5: Kim Jong-myung -4: Park Nam-sin, Bae Sang-moon, Ben Leong, Kim Dae-sub, Kim Wi-joong -3: Simon Griffiths, Hong Soon-sang, Kim Meen-whee, Rick Kulacz (Australia), Juvic Pagunsan, Tony Carolan (Australia), Kang Kyung-nam -2: Ian Poulter, Zaw Moe, Kim Woo-hyun
