Aussie girls leading the way at NZ Womens Senior

New South Wales’ Kim Burke, Sylvia Donohoe, and Jacqui Morgan are battling it out with Victoria’s Helen Pascoe at the NZ Senior Women’s Championships at the Scenic Waihi Golf Club on New Zealand’s North Island.

The Australian representatives are competing courtesy of their top four finish in last year’s Australian Women’s Senior Champs.

After easily qualifying for the match play, the girls got off to a flyer in the first round. Pascoe won her first round match against NZ’s Judy Cameron one-up, while Donohoe easily accounted for Sue Cox of Mangawhai 8&6. The Aussie pair will meet in tomorrow’s quarter-final round.

Magenta Shore’s Kim Burke easily accounted for Kiwi Robyn Pellow 5&4, while Monash Country Club’s Jacqui Morgan did it easy against another Kiwi Chris Pritt of Taupo. If the duo win their respective Wednesday matches, they will meet in the Championship Semi-final.

The Championships conclude on Thursday.
