Aussie in third

Korean-born Australian Won-joon Lee carded a brilliant third-round 66 to move into outright third position at the Maekyung Open. But Lee is still a massive seven shots behind leader Wen-chong Liang from China, who remains on track for his second title of the season after a five-under 67 saw him improve to 14-under in the Asian Tour event. Liang leads by one stroke from Korean youngster Kyung-tae Kim, who made it a two-horse race for the Maekyung title after matching Liang&aposs round with a blistering back nine. Lee, in his rookie season on the Asian Tour, fired six birdies in what was the day&aposs equal-best round. “After a 76 on Thursday, I had to grind it out. I worked it out on the range after the first day and it&aposs gotten a lot better since then,” the 21-year-old said. The next best Australia is Mitchell Brown, who dropped back to three-under after a 74, while Marcus Both, Unho Park and Gavin Flint are even-par. Liang can go to the top of the Asian Tour&aposs UBS Order of Merit with victory at the tournament. “It&aposs not over yet. Kim is strong player. He played well today and putted great,” said Liang, who is currently second on the UBS Order of Merit thanks to his win in the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters and four other top-10s.
