Aussie pair grab top-10 finishes

Australian pair Bradley Hughes and David McKenzie both carded final rounds of 71 to grab a share of seventh place in the Wichita Open on the Nationwide Tour. The pair finished the tournament on 13-under, six strokes behind runaway winner and order of merit leader Brad Elder, who shot a final round of 65 to emerge victorious on 19-under. Argentine Fabian Gomez was second on 15-under after also firing a final round of 65, one stroke ahead of a four-man group in third. Australian teenager Jason Day, second on the order of merit, completed a consistent four days with a final round of 69 to be tied for 13th on 12-under. Day blew his chance of a top-three finish with consecutive bogies at 12 and 13. Scott Gardner was the next best-placed Australian in 19th place on 11-under, one shot ahead of compatriot Marc Leishman, who carded a two-over-par 73 on Sunday.
