Aussie run ends at The Amateur

Australia's best young male amateurs have completed their European tour with two players — David Micheluzzi and Dylan Perry — reaching the top 16 of the British Amateur in Wales.

Micheluzzi, 19, from the Victorian Institute of Sport and Metropolitan Golf Club, and Dylan Perry, 21, from Vintage Golf Club in New South Wales, were both knocked out in the round of 16 today.

The Victorian lost to Scotland's Robert MacIntyre 2 and 1.  The New South Welshman lost to Poland's Adrian Meronk 3 and 2. Perry had knocked out another NSW star, Cameron Davis, in the previous round.

The quarter-finals of the prestigious event will be held tonight.
