The Aussie had five birdies in his final round but a bogey on 18 cost him a playoff berth with Jay Williamson and eventual winner Hunter Mahan. Steve Allan and Matthew Goggin were the next-best Aussies at five-under for the tournament while Peter Lonard shot a solid three-under, highlighted by a final-round 67. The Aussie had four birdies in a closing round of 70 to ensure a top-five finish. Matthew Jones posted a six-under while Aron Price was a stroke further back at five-under after an even-par final round. The veteran posted a three-under to finish in a share of 21st, 10-strokes off winner Niclas Fasth of Sweden. Terry price finished even with the card while Brett Rumford was the only other Australian to make the cut and turned in a plus-four. LPGA TOUR Lindsey Wright and Rachel Hetherington flew the flag for Australia in New York over the weekend finishing and five-under and three-under respectively in the Wegmans Rochester LPGA. Wright carded rounds of 70 70 72 and 71 to record one of her best finishes for the season. Hetherington was only two strokes back and ensured a top-10 finish with a final round 71. Katherine Hull had a positive tournament finishing at two-over after missing some recent cuts while Australian number one Karrie Webb posted a four-over.
