Aussies fire at Q-School

The second stage of the US PGA Tour Q-School is in full swing with four tournaments currently taking place around America. Roughly the top 20 from each field of 78 will progress to the final stage of qualifying, which will be held over six rounds in December, with the top 25 from that field earning themselves a Tour card for next year. Scott Gardiner has made an excellent start in the Kingwood event, shooting rounds of 67 and 69 to be in a tie for second place at eight-under-par at the halfway mark. Gardiner is two shots behind leader Richard Johnson, while Michael Sim has also made a good start to be at five-under par in a tie for 10th place, while the other Aussie in the field, Ewan Porter, has withdrawn from the event. In Pine Mountain, Kim Felton has shot consecutive rounds of three-under 69 to be in a tie for 13th place at the halfway stage, five shots behind leader Robert Damron. Paul Gow and Gavin Coles are both at four-under in the Panama City Beach event to be seven shots off the pace in a tie for 10th place after two rounds. Finally, in Brooksville, New Zealand&aposs Grant Waite is three shots off the pace in a tie for 16th.
