David McKenzie and Greg Chalmers finished in a share of 12th place as Ryan Hietala surged home to win the Nationwide Tour&aposs Cox Classic. The American fired a closing 69 to join compatriot David Branshaw (73) on 19-under-par, forcing the tournament into a play-off. Hietala then parred the first extra hole while Branshaw could only manage a bogey, handing the 34-year-old a cheque for $US126,000. McKenzie, who started the day in equal 30th place, jumped up the leaderboard with a closing six-under-par 65 to join Chalmers (67) at 14-under, five strokes behind the winner. Marc Leishman was the next-best Australian at nine-under. Jarrod Lyle had a final-round 72 to finish tied for 51st but retained his No.1 spot on the Nationwide Tour money list, with $US293,366 for the sixth consecutive week and 14th week this season. Skip Kendall (64) shot the day&aposs lowest round to leap into a share of third place alongside Garth Mulroy (69) and Alex Prugh (67) at 16-under.
