Click for Scores and Information (Play begins Wednesday 25 April) The Australian team of Breanna Elliott (Vic), Whitney Hillier (WA) and Su Hyun Oh (Vic) have arrived in Singapore ahead of this week s Queen Sirikit Cup at Tanah Merah Country Club which begins on Wednesday. The team enters the championship on the back of solid individual performances in the first half of 2012. Oh (Kingswood) won the Australian Junior Championship in Queensland two weeks ago while Elliott (Yarrawonga) won her third National Ranking Event for the year at the South Australian Stroke Play. She won both the WA Stroke Play and WA Amateur titles earlier this year. Hillier (Joondalup) won the Lake Macquarie Amateur in January before going on to win the Riversdale Cup in Melbourne in February. Junior Champion Oh said she was looking forward to the experience. It’s exciting to be going over there, Oh said. I played Trans Tasman Cup against New Zealand in March but this is my first time representing Australia overseas. Former LPGA Tour player Shani Waugh is the team coach and Matt Cutler is the team manager. The championship is played over 54 holes Stroke Play from Wednesday 25 April to Friday 27 April, with the best two scores in each team to count each day. Australia last won the tournament in 2001. Korea has won the last four consecutive titles. The championship is hosted annually on a rotation basis among 14 invited member countries with the objectives of promoting the standard of women’s golf in the region and to promote goodwill and friendship among participating teams.
