Played at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, the Australian team of Kim Burke (NSW), Pauline Jeffery (ACT), Jacqui Morgan (NSW), Helen Pascoe (Vic), Josie Ryan (Qld) and Sue Wooster (Vic) took an early 2-1 lead after the morning foursomes matches.
The afternoon fourball matches could not be separated, with both teams claiming one and a half points apiece.
Singles matches will be played tomorrow.
