Aussies ready for hot competition at Toyota World Junior

The Australian team of Daniel Nisbet, Brendan Smith, Bryden MacPherson and Aidan Bae have arrived in Japan and are currently contesting the Toyota World Junior at Chukyo Golf Club. The boys will be looking to improve on the efforts of their countrymen who finished third behind Sweden and Norway last year. Nisbet was part of the four-man contingent and is eligible to return as he is under the age eligibility cut-off of 19. Peter Knight, Director of Elite Development at Golf Australia said, “The team has practiced well over the past three days and are all in good form heading into the tournament. “The weather here is in the high 20&aposs and quite humid so there is a premium placed on recovering well after the round each day. The course itself is very picturesque steep tree-lined hills bordering many fairways and big changes in elevation to two of the par three&aposs. The change in elevation is equivalent to around a 20m difference. The greens are medium fast and very true and the grass on the fairways has the ball sitting on the fairway rather than down in it which this makes it easy to hit shots.” Click here to follow their progress.
