Australasian PGA Tour schedule announced

The PGA Tour, the PGA and Golf Australia has announced the schedule for the 2007 season. The 2006 MFS Australian Open marked a celebration and resurgence of the game as the likes of Greg Norman, Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy and eventual winner, John Senden returned home to electrify the fans. In 2007, the MFS Australian Open returns to The Australian Golf Club, December 13-16, for the first time since 2004 when Peter Lonard held off a determined Stuart Appleby to win the prestigious Stonehaven Cup for the second time. The summer of golf will be opened at Huntingdale, Melbourne with the co-sanctioned MasterCard Masters from November 22-25. Englishman Justin Rose triumphed against a number of fast-finishing Aussies last year and the 2007 event again promises an enthralling battle between local stars and the cream of the European Tour. The Hyatt Regency Coolum will once again host the Cadbury Schweppes PGA Championship where Nick O&aposHern chipped in from a greenside bunker to beat Peter Lonard in a dramatic playoff last December. This year&aposs event will be held December 6-9, the week before the excite finale of the season at the 2007 MFS Australian Open.
