Australia in striking distance at Nomura Cup

It was more of the same today at the Nomura Cup in UAE, but we made ground and are within striking distance going into the last round.

2-under par rounds for Ben and Harrison – both steady and again were not troubled at any stage, but just couldn’t hole putts on the tough, slow greens.  Harrison has battled an eye infection all week and had teary eyes all day so it was a fantastic effort from him.

Brett rallied well on the back 9 before a double bogey on 18 halted his excellent play after he went for the green in two following a massive drive.  Travis got off to a quick start and was around even par all day finishing with a 71.

We haven’t had a low one yet, we need to tomorrow but a telling statistic is that all four players are under par for the tournament but we haven’t had a round in the 60’s.  Consistency has been great but it is low rounds that are needed in this teams format.

The guys are still confident and are playing to win.  Fifteen back seems a lot but it’s the equivalent of a 5 shot deficit in singles play which is very achievable.
