Australia has finished third in the team component of the Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship at Tom Watson Golf Club in Japan.
The Australian team of Ken Brewer (NSW), Gordon Claney (Vic), John Davey (SA), Brad Dowling (Qld), Lester Peterson (NSW) and Greg Rhodes (Vic) led after rounds one and two, but could not hold off the fast finishing Japan. Australia’s team score of 894 was three behind Japan, with New Zealand finishing second.
New Zealand’s Brent Paterson won the individual title for the second consecutive year. Greg Rhodes was the best placed Australia in third place, while Brewer and Peterson tied sixth.
