Entries have been extended until Thursday 26 February for the Srixon Australian Men’sand Women’s Amateur Championships. Entries have been received from competitors from the Philippines, New Zealand, Korea, England, Scotland, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, and Taiwan, along with countless entries from all around Australia. The 2009 Women’s Championship will be played at Brisbane and Royal Queensland Golf Clubs, while the Men will fight it out at Virginia and Royal Queensland Golf Clubs. Queensland has not hosted the nation s most prestigious amateur championship since 2005 for the women, and since 2002 for the men. This year will incorporate the Ross Herbert National and International Teams Trophies for the first time in the revised format. Each State and International body may nominate two males and two females, with the winner being the national and international teams with the lowest aggregate score over the first two stroke play rounds. Players may enter after the closing date, however late fees do apply.
