Pairs from every state in Australia will contest the 2013 Australian Foursomes Championships, which tee off at Riversdale Golf Club in Melbourne on Monday. 2013 sees the first year the Men’sand Women’s Championships will be played in conjunction. All pairs will contest 36-holes foursomes stroke play. In the Men’sChampionship, pairs to watch are World Number 2 Brady Watt from WA, and his partner Curtis Luck, NSW pair Ricky Kato and Brett Drewitt, Taylor MacDonald and Aaron Wilkin from Qld, as well as local favourites Anthony Huston and DJ Loypur. Former Australian cricketer Greg Blewett makes his Australian Foursomes debut with fellow South Australian Duncan Shaw. Meanwhile, the Women’s Championship for the Nance Marriott Trophies sees Australian Amateur runner up Jenny Lee from SA team up with Elysia Yap, while former Australian Team Members Ashley Ona and Jaimee Dougan from Qld will also take some beating. NSW s Lauren Hibbett and Cathleen Santoso will be strong contenders, as will WA s Hannah Green and Claudia Pisano. All players will be looking to add their names to a stellar honour roll, including Geoff Ogilvy, Nathan Green, Steve Elkington and Karrie Webb. The Australian Foursomes lead into the Riversdale Cups, which commence on Thursday 7 March.
