Australian Junior Championships in Perth

NOTE: Entries are now closed

Entries are closed for the 2013 Australian Junior Championships to be played from 10-12 April in Western Australia.

The Girls’ Championship will be played at Mount Lawley Golf Club in Perth, and the Boys’ Championship at Pinjarra Golf Club, one hour South of Perth.

With last year’s Boys’ Champion having left the junior ranks, the event is wide open for a new champion.

Last year’s runner-up Viraat Badhwar (Qld) will be a top contender along with Kade McBride (Qld) who is currently ranked number one on the Australian Boys’ Rankings.

In the Girls’ Championship, defending Champion and National Squad Member Su Hyun Oh (Vic) will be back to defend her title after a great year which saw her finish top of the 2012 Australian Junior Girls’ Rankings.

Shelly Shin (NSW) who sits on top of the current Australian Girls’ Rankings, is also a strong contender, along with Hannah Green (WA) who will be vying for a victory in her home state.

Both events have stellar honour rolls, with past winners including Adam Scott, Jason Day, Wendy Doolan and Jan Stephenson.

With a place in the Australian Open field up for grabs for both winners, there will be plenty of tension come the final round.

The handicap limit for boys is 6.4 and for girls is 15.4.
