Victorian junior Kono Matsumoto holds a solid three stroke lead heading into tomorrow's final two rounds of the Australian Girls' Amateur Championship in Victoria's Yarra Valley.

With persistent rain continuing across Melbourne, Matsumoto slipped to a second round 3-over par 76 but her opening round 71 on Wednesday leaves her at 1-over par, three clear of Queensland's Rebecca Kay. Kay fired the joint round of the day – an even par 73 – matched by Kiwi Celyn Khoo.

Australian Amateur runner-up, Queenslander Karis Davidson is in third place, four strokes behind Matsumoto. Kiwi Khoo is in fourth place, a further stroke back.

The third and final rounds are played on Friday. In addition to the trophy, the champion earns an exemption into the 2015 ISPS HANDA Women's Australian Open.

Australian Boys' Amateur Championship – The Heritage Golf and Country Club – Round 2

Victorian Ryan Ruffels and New South Welshman Blake Windred have maintained their grip on the lead at the halfway mark of the Australian Boys' Amateur Championship on the St.John Course at The Heritage.

Ruffels backed up his first round 70 with a second round 3-under par 69 to be tied with Windred who shot identical rounds over the first two days.

The pair leads at 5-under par, two strokes clear of Victorian pair Zach Murray and Blake Collyer. Collyer produced the round of the day in tough conditions, finishing with a 4-under par 68 while Murray had 70.

Kiwi Charlie Hillier is in fifth place at 2-under par with Queenslander Charles Pilon and New South Welshman Isaac Noh tied in sixth.

The third and final rounds are played on Friday. The champion earns a place at this year's Emirates Australian Open at The Australian Golf Club in November.
