Entries are open for the 2019 Australian Junior Championships to be played from 10-12 April on the Gold Coast.
The girls’ championship will be played at Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club while the boys’ championship will be played at the other end of the Gold Coast at Southport Golf Club.
It is the first time both Southport and Coolangatta & Tweed Heads have hosted national junior championships.
Southport Golf Club, located north of Surfers Paradise, is an easy walking course with only mild undulation, tree-lined fairways and strategically placed ponds and lakes.
Coolangatta & Tweed Heads is located 30 minutes south and just across the Queensland-New South Wales border. It has hosted many big tournaments, including the Queensland Open. With two magnificent courses, the club is laid out across 101 hectares.
Both events are played over 72 holes of stroke play and with a place in the Australian Open field up for grabs for the champions, there will be plenty of excitement come the final round.
With past champions including Brett Ogle, Peter O’Malley, Stuart Appleby, Robert Allenby, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Cameron Smith, Jan Stephenson and Minjee Lee, the trophies have stellar honor rolls.
The GA handicap limit is 5.4 for boys and 15.0 for girls. The entry fee includes a practice round, yardage book, and complimentary range balls and pull buggies for the event.
Entries close at 12 pm AEDT on 25 March 2019.
