Australian Lefthanded Golfers Championship concludes

A field of 105 left handed men, 11 left handed ladies  from across Australia and New Zealand participated in the 49th Australian Left Handers Championship  played throughout the week of Monday 5 October  to Friday 10 October  at Lonsdale G C, Curlewis G C and both courses at Thirteenth Beach.

 

The winners for the week were:

Open Champion – David Ryles (SA) Score 316

Senior Champion (55-69 years) – George Kotaridis (Kew) Score 326

Super Senior Champion (70 years +) – Clem Powers (Curlewis) Score 336

Ladies Champion – Cheryl Gorham (ACT) Score 339

The Nettlefold Teams event was won by Victoria -George Kotaridis (Kew), Clem Powers (Curlewis), Brian Lynch (Medway) & Noel Bond (Peninsula)





Players commented on the great way each of the golf courses were prepared and presented during the week being a great advertisement for both the Bellarine Peninsula and golf in Victoria.

A special thank you goes to the Managers and Professionals at all the clubs for their assistance in hosting the week of golf for all competitors. The week finished off with a 200 people attending the presentation Dinner at the Monahan Centre in Queenscliff.

Next year’s event will be the 50th Anniversary of the Lefthanders Championship and will be held in the Port Macquarie area in NSW from 25 – 30 October.The hosting venues will be Port Macquarie G C, Wauchope G C & South West Rocks Country Club. For more info see the website www.nalg-nsw.org.au or email info@nalg-nsw.org.au
