Australian Masters Games Concludes

Sylvia Blegg from Portarlington, 98 years old and still enjoying her golf was a special participant on the final day of the 14th Australian Masters Games. The golf games concluded today on the Bellarine Peninsula, with Individual Stroke events being held at 13th Beach Golf Links and Portarlington Golf Club.

It was a chilly 8am start at both venues. The light breeze in the morning picked up to stronger gusts throughout the day, making scoring a challenge across the board. The courses were presented in immaculate condition which was a great way to round up a fantastic week of competition for all participants.

13th Beach hosted the men aged 40 – 69 while all the women and men aged 30-39 and 70+ competed over at Portarlington for gross and nett medallions in their respective divisions.

Thank you to all the participants from across the country (and internationally) who have travelled to compete in this year’s Games. We hope that it has been an enjoyable experience for all, and we know  that many new friendships were made throughout the week. Thanks are also to be extended to all the clubs that hosted this week, the AMG organisation, and the host of volunteers for their fantastic contribution.
