The field is set for the Australian Men’sSenior Amateur Championship to be played at Yarra Yarra Golf Club on the Melbourne sandbelt, from 4-6 September. Defending champion and three-time winner, NSW s Stefan Albinski will be hoping to claim a fourth title, however he is sure to face strong competition. Queensland s Peter King sits in second place on the Australian Senior Men’sRankings with two wins from Ranking Events this year, while an in-form Graham Blizard from NSW, father of Australian professional and 2009 Eisenhower Cup representative Rohan Blizard, is sure to put up a tough fight. New Zealander Rodney Barltrop, who won the event in 2004, 2005 and 2009, will also be a strong contender, along with American Kemp Richardson who was runner up in the 2010 Championship, and 2001 and 2003 US Senior Amateur Champion. The event is in its 32nd year, having been played since 1981, and with the winner claiming the Kerry Packer Trophy, it is Australia s premier men’s senior event. It is played over 54-holes stroke play, concluding with a Presentation Dinner on Thursday evening. For those players who may have forgotten to enter, late entries are still being accepted.
