Tharle (Royal Canberra) shot a second round 2-over par 74 to lead by two strokes at 3-over par for the championship. Defending champion Jason Perry (VIC) moved into second place with a 3-over par 75 while James Brownlow (NSW), Lester Peterson (NSW) and former cricketer Greg Blewett (SA) are tied in third place at 6-over par. Daniel Ong (VIC) is in sixth place at 8-over par. In the Australian Women&aposs Mid Amateur Championship, 2010 champion Sue Wooster (VIC) leads by eight strokes after an excellent even par 72 in the second round to be at 7-over for the championship. Gemma Dooley (NSW) and Lisa Holmquest (VIC) are tied in second place while Kim Burke (NSW) and Sharon Thompson (NSW) are tied in fourth place. Defending champion Katrina Jones (QLD) is in sixth place. The final round begins on Friday.
