Australian team selected for Asia Pacific Senior Amateur

Golf Australia has announced the Australian Team to contest the 2013 Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship to be played at Montgomerie Links in Da Nang City, Vietnam. The six-man team to contest the event in 2013 is Stefan Albinski (NSW), Denis Dale (NSW), Richard Greville (NSW), Peter King (Qld), David Limbach (NSW) and Roy Vandersluis (NSW) Albinski is Australia s number one ranked senior golfer and three time Australian Senior Amateur Champion. Dale sits in second place on the Australian Senior Amateur Rankings and has been a consistent performer over many years. Vandersluis who is in third place on the rankings has also had a solid season with four top ten finishes and one ranking win in the last 12 months. Peter King continues to perform with two wins and three top ten finishes in the past 12 months, while Limbach and Greville will make up the team after a consistent year on the seniors ranks. The Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship is played over 54-holes stroke play, and comprises an individual event with the team event in conjunction. Australia s Denis Dale from New South Wales is the defending champion after taking out the title last year at Discovery Bay Golf Club in Hong Kong, while Australia also goes into the event defending the team title. In each round, the total of the four lowest scores constitutes the team score for the round. The three-day (54-hole) total is the team s score for the championship. The event is organised by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation.
