Australia has selected the Australian team for the Toyota World Junior Championship at Chukyo Golf Club near Nagoya, Japan from 24-27 June.
The team members are Brett Coletta (Woodlands GC, VIC), Zach Murray (Commonwealth GC, VIC), Blake Proverbs (Pacific GC, QLD) and Blake Windred (Monash Country Club, NSW).
Coletta won this year’s South Australian Junior Masters and the Tamar Valley Junior Cup and finished third at the Australian Junior Championships in April.
Murray is the current Victorian Amateur champion and recently joined Golf Australia’s National Squad.
Proverbs has finished runner-up at the NSW Junior Championship, Jack Newton Junior International and SA Junior Masters in the last year.
Windred finished runner-up to Ryan Ruffels at this year’s Australian Junior Championship in April.
The Team Captain is Dean Kinney and the coach is Peter Knight.
The Australian team finished second in the 2013 edition.
Golf Australia High Performance Director Brad James said the players would benefit from the international experience.
“We have had some excellent results at this event in recent years and look forward to another strong Australian performance in Japan,” James said.
The championship is 72 holes with the best 3 of 4 individual scores to count each day.
